How do I run a credit card or debit card sale on my VX520? (Restaurant account - tip processing)

Important: This article is for businesses that use a restaurant account, and tip processing. If your business uses a retail account, please go to How do I run a credit card sale on my VX520? (Retail account - no tip.).

1. From the SoftPay home screen, press F2 (Sale). (The SoftPay home screen displays the Sale, Refund, and Void options.)
2. Use the keypad to type the sale amount, then press the Enter key.
3. Press F1 (Yes) to confirm the sale amount.
4. Swipe, dip, or tap the payment card on the terminal, or use the keypad to type the card number, then press Enter.
   1. If the customer is using a card that requires a PIN, prompt them to either:
      • Use the external PIN pad to enter their PIN, or
      • Use the keypad on the VX520 to enter their PIN, and return the terminal to you.
   2. Press Enter to submit the payment for approval.
5. To print a copy of the receipt for the customer, press F1 (Yes).
